It seems this country and our world is spinning out of control day by day. Terrifying stories appear daily on the news headlines, and we feel powerless to stop many of the atrocities against the innocent and Christians. What are we to do? Can we make a difference? Yes, we need to fast and pray.
This week let us put away many of our daily distractions and focus our minds on praying and pleading to God about our churches, and our families. We need to plead with God to give us wisdom and courage to stand firm for Godly marriages, the rights of the unborn, the rights to educate our children in a Christ-like manner, we need to ask God to let us know how we should act in our specific environment. This week I would like to challenge you to read less of the news and use the time to read more of the Bible and to pray. If you want to go further, pick out a day to fast and pray. Get your spouse or friends involved. The Bible says in Mathew 18: 20 “For where two or three gathers in my name, there am I with them.”
Reading the news and staying informed is a good thing; however it is not enough. Now is time to make a difference. By fasting, praying, and seeking God, these actions will make a real impact on those people that God surrounded us with.
