What will you do when a homosexual or transgender person comes to your church and asks for a job? or applies to be your pastor? If you refuse, you will face imprisonment, fines, or closure of your church. Will you be willing to pay the price or will you compromise? These are the questions we have to be asking ourselves now because Christians will soon be required to give their answer.
CBN News reports that churches in Austin, Texas may soon be forced to hire homosexual and transgender employees, including pastors, if a city ordinance is implemented. Government officials are forcing churches to violate core convictions, and if they succeed, all of our Constitutional protections are – all gone, for all of us, across all America.
The Houston-based US Pastor Council and the Texas Values organization is suing the city in federal court over the code arguing that the ordinance forces churches to go against their biblical beliefs and does not include a religious exemption.
Austin city officials are not backing down. They defend the ordinance which says churches have no right to insist their employees accept and practice a church’s teachings on homosexuality.
